Enron

Enron Corporation fue una empresa de energia con sede en Houston, Texas que empleaba cerca de 21.000 personas hacia mediados de 2001 (antes de su quiebra). Una serie de técnicas contables fraudulentas, apoyados por su empresa contable, la entonces prestigiosa Arthur Andersen, le permitieron a esta empresa estar considerada como la séptima empresa de los Estados Unidos, y se esperaba que seguiría siendo empresa dominante en sus áreas de experticia. En lugar de ello, se convirtió en el más grande fracaso empresarial de la historia y el arquetipo de fraude empresarial planificado.
